The wii is the most played current gen console - Neilsen admitted they got their figures messed up. But you are correct with your point that many gamers still haven't updated.

PS2: 136 million
Xbox: 24 million
Gamecube: 21 million
Total: 181 million
This Gen:
Wii: 50 million
360: 29 million
ps3: 21 million
Total: 100 million

predicting NPD. But thats not necessarily a bad thing, Vgchartz have been quite accurate for some time. As long as people realise they are estimates and can be wrong then I don't see everyones problem. Its a free service. If you don't like them then ignore the numbers.

Out of 390 games the number of games with Mario are: 9/390
And Sonic: 6/390
Oh yeah totally every game has mario and sonic in, you'd find it hard to find one without these characters!
the gaps naturally get closer but 8K is quite close! @above well only one of the models is 1/2 the price so I wouldn't suggest that it should double sales.

Bloody ell! I agree that SOny will increase their profits in the future but I don't think anyone will get near nintendo's profits with the DS and Wii. The profits nintendo are churning out now dwarf that of Sony's in the ps2 era. However not being able to match nintendo's insane profits is not shameful at all.

The ps3 has done remarkably well considering sony's attempts to give it the worst start possible. It may not dominate like its predecessor but it is definately a viable platform with a loyal userbase which will ensure it will be continualy supported.

I would be surprised if they were selling at a loss even after the price cuts as they have had 4 years to bring the price down. The only place where I'd think they'd be losing money would be in the RROD warranties with software and live bringing in a tidy sum.

First of all the DSi had an amazing opening few days especially seeing as in my opinion it is overpriced.
A lack of software? The DS has one of the biggest and most diverse software lineup of any console ever. Either I have really misunderstood this article or it is based on irrelevant evidence.
